Privacy Policy
CBGL, Inc. (“CBGL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit cbglretail.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
CBGL, Inc. is a New York–based distribution and brand-management company representing French independent beauty brands in the United States and Canada. We are the party responsible for the personal information collected through this Site. You can reach us using the details in the “Contact us” section below.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit one of our contact or application forms, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email address, company or store name, the nature of your enquiry (for example, retailer, brand, or press), and the contents of your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our analytics provider collect limited technical information when you browse, such as your device and browser type, referring pages, pages viewed, and a general (non-precise) location derived from your IP address. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and analytics” below).
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and our forms do not ask for payment card numbers, government IDs, or similar data. Please do not send such information through the Site.
3. How we use information
- To respond to your enquiry and correspond with you about a potential wholesale, brand, press, or partnership relationship;
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and understand how it is used;
- To keep records of our business communications; and
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site. Analytics cookies are not set until you accept them via our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are placed and no usage data is sent. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data on our behalf once enabled; you can learn more at Google’s Privacy Policy and opt out of Google Analytics across sites using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; doing so may affect how the Site functions.
5. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Site and our business, and only as needed for them to perform those services, including:
- Netlify — website hosting and form processing (submissions you send through our forms are delivered and stored via Netlify, and forwarded to us by email);
- Google — website analytics, as described above.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our agreements, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
6. Data retention
We keep enquiry and correspondence data for as long as needed to handle your request and maintain our business records, and then delete or anonymize it. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider’s settings.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. Data security and international transfers
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. The Site is operated from the United States; if you access it from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
9. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Third-party links
The Site links to third-party websites, including our brands’ own stores and marketplace listings (such as Faire). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their policies separately.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
